FAQ

What does WTF mean?

WTF is shorthand for Womxn, Trans, Femme. By incorporating this acronym into our name, we are seeking to connect with people who self-identify with those identities or identify as non-binary. We acknowledge that letters and labels only go so far and that, above all, we seek to respect whatever words people use to describe themselves. We hope to engage in a conversation where we can learn more about our community as it relates to bikepacking and outside of cycling.

While we are grateful for our allies, participation in the Summit and Ride Series is intended only for WTF and non-binary self-identifying riders. Thank you for your understanding and feel free to contact us about other ways you can provide support.

Will WTF Bikexplorers events be accessible to trans and gender non-binary riders?

Yes! We don’t care what gender you were assigned at birth, Trans and non-binary cyclists are absolutely welcome and encouraged to participate in our rides and retreat! We acknowledge that letters and labels only go so far and that, above all, we seek to respect whatever words people use to describe themselves.

Who are WTF Bikexplorers?

The WTF Bikexplorers was founded by six friends who share a passion for adventure cycling and wish to encourage, support and celebrate a wider representation of riders within the cycling community. WTF Bikexplorers is also YOU – any WTF self-identifying rider that loves to explore by bicycle. Allies of the WTF Bikexplorer community are welcome to reach out to find ways to support our efforts!

What are the WTF Bikexplorers Ride Series?

Our Ride Series will feature free, self-supported bikepacking trips in regions across the United States. It is our goal that the Ride Series will serve as an accessible way for more WTF and gender non-conforming self-identifying riders to join in the fun of learning, supporting, and celebrating each other close to home.
